Job Desctiption:

• You will be reporting to the Resort Manager, you will operate the ferry boat, transporting passengers and cargo on a set path between the mainland and Iririki Island.
• Be able to maintain a schedule, oversee loading and unloading procedures on the boat.
• Piloting vessels (ferry / barge) from Iririki Resort to Port Vila mainland dock and back.
• Piloting sunset or other cruises around the harbour as required
• Piloting Iririki Ferryboats daily while providing an interactive "spiel" to guests and positively engaging and interacting with the guests, while maintaining expected guest safety and service levels.
• Loading and unloading guests and belongings, while maintaining appropriate passenger levels.
• Cleaning Ferry & other Boats and facilities, Inspecting Ferry for service issues and reporting to appropriate contact, daily.
• Check fuel, water, oil and mechanical condition before leaving to transport guests.
• Assure that emergency procedures are followed in the case of an accident; complete written accident report as required and call/notify the Manager as soon as possible.
• Repair, secure and/or immediately report any and all safety hazards on the boats or jetty areas. • Tell the Manager of the need for routine and preventative maintenance for all boats and/or engines.
• Know and follow all company, Environmental, Marine, Health and Safety, Emergency Action Plan and Risk Management Program policies and procedures.

Duties of a Front Office Supervisor will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
• Reporting to the Front Office Manager
• Primarily supervises front office team members to ensure efficient and smooth operations for producing excellent feedbacks and guest satisfaction.

• Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights, increase occupancy and revenue.
• Ensure arrival rooms are ready prior to arrival
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by the management.
• Supervise daily shift process ensuring all team members adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns
• Build strong relationships and liaise with all other department's especially housekeeping, reservations etc
• Ensures safety by following guest check in and security procedures and reporting suspicious activity to security, manager, or MOD.

 

Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Minimum 2 to 3 years work experience as Front Office Associate in a hotel/resort and experience related to this class of work including some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
A positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Experience of motivating and leading a winning team. Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure. Very good computer skills.

-Prepare Special Financial Reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing account information and trends when required
-Statutory accounting requirements including preparation of monthly VAT returns
-Prepare/Review product costing and product pricing
-Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
-Guide accounting staff by coordinating activities and training for new tasks
-Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
-Undertake all responsibilities to ensure smooth run of the finances department

 

Selection Criteria:

-Fully qualified Bachelors degree in finance CA/CPA
-Excellent knowledge in accounting principles & Financial Reporting
-Minimum 5 Years of experience in a similar Role
-Excellent analytic skills
-Proficiency in MS Excel and word
-High level of commitment and self-motivated
-Excellent Team Leader who is flexible and possess strong problem-Solving skills
-knowledge in QuickBooks will be considered as an added advantage
