Job Desctiption:
A server technician makes sure an organization's server systems are running smoothly. They do this by running periodical maintenance, fixing any problems, and integrating new servers into the network. This type of position is suited to those who enjoy problem-solving and don't mind the pressure of a company's entire network resting on their shoulders.
Selection Criteria:
• Solid foundation in computer knowledge and a thorough understanding of all the technologies involved in server maintenance
• A good knowledge of electrical server systems
• Analytical thinking
• The ability to talk through server issues in a clear and concise way
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to solve problems
• Time management skills
• The ability to work closely to a deadline
• The ability to work independently on projects as well as part of a team
Duties and Responsibilities
> Performing system diagnostics
> Repairing servers as needed
> Maintaining the servers and fixing errors
> Using the right manufacturing diagnostic equipment to ensure testing is thorough
> Maintaining the correct knowledge of servers and PCs to make the correct repairs
> Replacing parts and ensuring that records are detailed and kept properly
> Maintain excellent communication
