Job Description
|
Vanuatu Insurance Brokers
is looking to recruit a Financial Controller for its Vanuatu Business.
The Financial controller will have the responsibility for coordinating and collating financial information and reporting to the Managing Director on all aspects of financial management, reporting and compliance functions and other obligations of the Company. This includes performing the following specific functions and responsibilities: • Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial reports for senior management and quarterly financial reports for the Managing Director. • Coordination and preparation of the Company's annual budget and annual financial statements for Managing Director's approval. • Coordinate the audit of the Company's accounts with the auditors. • Manage all accounting /finance operations, including banking relationships, payroll and investment of the Company. • Implement financial management policies and procedures and develops tools and systems for ensuring compliance with overall policies including administrative policies and procedures; and • Maintain the Company’s Asset register. |

Minimum Qualification
• A bachelor degree in finance or accounting from a recognized university with a least 10 years of progressive working experience within the private or public sector • 3 years of progressively responsible managerial or supervisory experience in the financial realm. • Excellent knowledge of general accounting and accounting standards • Ability to work with a professional team with proven ability to work with governmental institutions, finance centre association and civil society • Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft word, excel, Xero, Myob systems and other financial accounting software • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills. The successful candidate must also satisfy the following personal qualities. • Ability to work as a team member of VIB Management • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in a professional manner • Commitment, Professionalism and a willingness to make positive contribution to the performance and environment of VIB. |
