A coastal management and climate change adaption project is
seeking a Communications Assistant to work four hours a fortnight (either one
morning or one afternoon a fortnight) to support communications activities for
the project.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Contacting field staff to request text/info for media releases
- Doing some editing of text to make good articles
- Collecting photos from field staff and photographers for media releases
- Maintaining the photo permissions records
- Translating short written pieces from English into French and Bislama
- Assisting with the logistics for events such as launches, workshops + stalls at
open days
- Collecting quotes for printing
- And other communications related tasks as needed.
Criteria:
- Previous experience in writing and preparing
materials for the media, including for radio media
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and photo management
software
- Able to accurately translate into French and Bislama
- Experience in organising venue, catering, transport and other logistics for
events / workshops desirable
- Must be able to self-manage time and schedules
- Reliable and honest.
If you have used photo editing or video editing
software before that would be a bonus!
