The Ministry of Climate Change is responsible for activities in relation to meteorological services, geo-hazards, energy, environment and national disaster management, including general administration matters. The Ministry's role is to provide advice on these areas and to provide policy directions on all programs involving these matters. The Luganville electricity concession had expired on 31 December 2010 and the GoV had granted to the Vanuatu Utilities and Infrastructure (VUI) to manage and operate the concession until a new contract is awarded.
