The IRCCNH project overall objective is to increase the resilience of the communities in Vanuatu to the impacts of climate variability and change, and natural hazards, on food and water security, as well as livelihoods. The IRCCNH project intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing allocated to the Department of Geology, Mines and Water Resources (DGMWR) to payments for the services of a Provincial Water Planner - Tafea Province.

The Tafea Provincial Water Planner will focus his/her support on component 4 of the IRCCNH Project: "Rural Water Security: Increased Access to secure water supply" which objective is to secure water supply in rural areas of Vanuatu. Activities include:
  • Updating Rural Water Supply standards and guidelines for rural water supply provision, then improving outreach to partners working in the sector
  • Installing water supply systems to rural communities.
The following minimum qualifications are required.
Criteria: 
  • Degree in field relevant to Intergrated Water Resources Management, Water Engineering, or Earth Science (Hydrology/Hydrogeology) and/or Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Management
  • Minimum of 5 years piratical experience at a project management level
  • Water supply engineering experience and good practical (Pluming/engineering) skills.

The Vanuatu Pacific Games Association wishes to recruit a Chief Executive Officer to be responsible for the management of the 2017 Vanuatu Pacific Mini Games and will report to the VAN2017 Organizing Committee. This task will involve organizational awareness, problem solving, networking project management, communication and service delivery are key competencies for this role. The CEO is the key senior management position requiring the services of an experienced and competent person to facilitate the delivery of the Mini Games 2017. The CEO will be involved in various decision making processes towards the preparation and completion of all Games facilities and will be involved in the delivery of all service areas prior to, during and post the Pacific Mini Games.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Minister of the Games, VAN2017 Board of Directors, the Program Directors & Stakeholders of the 10th Pacific Mini Games
  • Facilitate work schedules of the Program Directors by providing all resources & assistance when required
  • Review and Amend timelines for the final delivery of infrastructures, Games services & facilities
  • Prepare all necessary financial reports & budgets
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure final construction & delivery of all Games venues & facilities
  • Assist the Government to ensure the capital investments will be the best legacies for Vanuatu
  • Establish timelines for all aspects of the 2017 Mini Games
  • Ensure the Program Directors deliver required outcomes in their areas of responsibility
  • Deliver the Pacific Mini Games within the approved budget
  • Work with key line agencies to ensure the final delivery of infrastructures and services to the 14 sports the 2017 Pacific Mini Games Program
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulation of Vanuatu
  • Provided regular reports to the Pacific Games Council.
