Job Description:
The Disaster Risk Reduction support Officer will assist the Project Manager in ensuring the proper implementation of the “Together, Becoming Resilient!” (TBR4) Project. This project is implemented by the VRCS in partnership with the FRC. He/she will also follow up the different VRCS/FRC activities related to Disaster Risk Reduction and Response. He/she works in close coordination with all Disaster Risk Reduction departments in the Vanuatu Red Cross Society and DRR stakeholders at the national level. He/She will ensure the sustainability and proper implementation of the DRR activities in the scope of the projects timeframe.
Criteria:
• Minimum 1 year experience of project management if possible in the field of CBDRR
• 1 to 3 year(s) of experience in the field required will be preferred
• Demonstrate experience and competencies in at least two (2) of the following sectors: (i) Program coordination, disaster risk reduction activities, community based programs, capacity building/training and awareness, monitoring and evaluation of project activities
• Team management, training and facilitation skills
• Excellent Computer skills (Internet, Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Bislama required / English and/or French will be an asset
