Live and work in Paradise, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated and hands on couple to take on positions of live in Resort Managers. Situated on the pristine east coast of Espiritu Santo, where our guests at our 10-Room Resort snorkel on the beautiful coral reef 100 meters from their rooms and kayak to the Turtle island or to the magnificent Matevulu Blue Hole.

The position is accountable for all aspects of guests relations, customer service, staff management, record keeping and maintenance with a focus on guest leaving with a smile on their faces. In addition to managing day to day operations, this position is accountable for the development and management of marketing, maintenance and staff plans to ensure the future health of the business.

This position suits a couple who have a passion for customer service and thrive in the hands on operational environment, where attention to details, staff leadership and personal organization are the keys to success. Previous experience in the accommodation industry will be well regarded but not essential. If you have a passion for the industry and like the idea of running your own operation then this could be the role for you.
    The successful candidates will be supported with a thorough handover and induction from the existing managers as well as the expertise of existing staff. The role starts February 2015. Car, accommodation, phone, electricity and meals are all supplied.

      Under the Supervision of Chief Field Office and WASH Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: 
      • Provide support to database management at the Department of Geology, Mines, and Water Resources, including assistance to data cleaning, analysis and reporting;
      • Support emergency WASH Cluster information management;
      • In consultation with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and Training, synthesize national data related to WASH in schools and develop a joint proposal for a WASH in schools programme;
      • As requested, provide technical inputs to the programme;
      • Assisting in the preparation of annual work plans and supply plans;
      • Supervising and monitoring WASH progammes, including assisting in evaluation of works when required.
        The successful candidate will be assessed in accordance with the following requirements listed:

        		Criteria:

        • National UN Volunteers have to be at least 22 years of age and be a nationality of Vanuatu;
        • University Degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Geology; Hydrology; Sanitation Engineering, or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance.
        • Experience in water and sanitation and hygiene field and with focus in schools desired;
        • Knowledge of Ms WORD, EXCEL, GIS.
