| Job Description: |
| The School WASH Project Officer reports to the WASH Sanitation Marketing Project Coordinator and is responsible for the administration of the School WASH Project in peri-urban areas of Port Vila in Shefa and Luganville in Sanma Provinces, the management and delivery of WASH activities and budgets, timely reporting, regular monitoring and evaluation of project achievements. |
| 1. A suitable undergraduate qualification in any discipline relating to water engineering, sciences, field of social sciences – public health or teaching. |
| 2. Some work experience working in water, sanitation, health and hygiene management or working in an NGO setting. |
| 3. Solid experience in hosting public awareness and hygiene promotion activities. |
| • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and Bislama with some understanding of French is desired; |
| • Experience with installation and maintenance of hand-washing facilities, water filtration, water quality and sanitation, health & hygiene infrastructures such as Ventilated Improved (VIP) Pits, Compost Toilets, Pour Flush and Flush Toilet Systems; |
| • Experience to develop and implement PHAST trainings; |
| • Proven experience in implementing WASH projects, workshop facilitation and giving presentations in both formal and non-formal settings; |
| A commitment to consultative and participatory engagement processes with all stakeholders including staff of LLV and the ability to work in a team setting. |

| The candidate is required to undertake the following project tasks and activities: |
| Criteria: |
| 1. Manage the training in hygiene behavioural change for school managers, teachers, and pupils. |
| 2. Establish appropriate sanitation facilities in selected schools. |
| 3. Establish WASH committees in selected schools. |
| 4. Manage the collection of data for the purposes of monitoring and evaluation and sharing of information of project outcomes and objectives. |
| 5. Manage & coordinate timely reports and acquittals on field work as required by Live & Learn Vanuatu and its donors. |
| 6. Manage & coordinate knowledge, aspirations and perceptions (KAP) research into schools knowledge, views and perceptions regarding WASH. |
| 7. Commit to developing an excellent working knowledge of climate change, water, sanitation, and health and hygiene management in Vanuatu. |
| 8. Build networks and partnership with other agencies/stakeholders in accordance with the organisational objective of Live & Learn Vanuatu, including government and non- governmental organisations and communities. |
| 9. Collaborate and assist with other Live & Learn Vanuatu projects as required. |
| 10. Attend to any other duties delegated by the Country Manager. |
