Vanuatu recently established a Local Authorities Association of Vanuatu (LAAV). This was made possible via an EU funded Programme call ARIAL 'Supporting and Strengthening Local Government Associations at National and Regional levels' ARIAL is implemented by a consortium of partners in the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) regions. Interviews

and short listing of candidates will be conducted immediately after. The successful applicant will resume office as early as mid-November.

LAAV is seeking a matured, dynamic and committed individual for the position of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The LAAV CEO will be based in Port Vila and will:

1) Be responsible for the governance of the Association including the submission of timely reports and acquittals

2) Develop and/or implement strategies which enhance the core purposes of the Association and its members

3) Link the Associations needs and priorities with government, development partners, civil society, the media and appropriate stakeholders when necessary to access support and value adding where possible

4) Work with the Assistant Officer to continue the development of the association and implement its 2013 work plan.
