Applications are invited for the position of an Accountant for the Provincial Office in Luganville. Santo, Vanuatu. This is a management position in the Anglican Church of Melanesia Vanuatu Provincial Office. The person for this post is responsible for the day to day management and supervision of church finances and staff in the accounts section of the COM Vanuatu

Office. The position requires a person with qualification and work experience in accounting, is familiar with the ATTACHE accounting software and with excellent people skills to ensure the church accounting machinery function; that is accounting matters relating to COM Vanuatu Provincial Office Budgets are properly managed and supervised in order to achieve the

desired goals. Major Duties:

I) To manage and supervise all budgets and the Church’s recognized accounting system used with the ACOM Vanuatu Provincial Office.

2) To be responsible for preparations of the annual budgets for all Departments within the ACOM in Vanuatu Provincial Office.

3) To provide training for accounting staff of ACOM Provincial Office and Institutions to properly

record income and expenses using the ATTACHE accounting system recognized by the Church.

4) The perform internal audits of the Church accounts for the Diocese and church Institution with ACOM in Vanuatu.

5) To prepare Accounts up to the Balance Sheet stage for ACOM (Vanuatu) Trust Account and report to the Trust and Education Boards at their annual meetings and submit financial monthly reports to Church Head Quarters as required.

6) To carry out on the job training with staff on accounts as well as the Attaché accounting system for staff in the Accounts Department of ACOM Office as well as Dioceses and Church Institutions as and when required.

7) To arrange for the external auditors to contact audit of ACOM (Vanuatu) Trust Board Accounts.

8) To perform any other duties as may be directed from time to time by the General Secretary and Head of Department within ACOM Vanuatu Provincial Office.
