The Vois Blong Yumi project is an AusAID-funded development assistance program to the Governement of Vanuatu designed to build the capacity and viability of the Vanuatu Broadcasting & Television Corporatation (VBTC) to pervform as a credible and viable national broadcaster. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is working with VBTC to implement the

project.

It seeks to employ a suitability qualified and skilled ni-Vanuatu as Commercial and Marketing Technical Advisor under contract to the Vois Blong Yumi project. It is anticipated that the role will be performed on a full time basis. The position is currently funded until 30th June 2010, but it is anticipated to function for a total term of 12 months, subject to continuation of

the Vois Blong Yumi project.

The Advisor will work to help build the VBTC’s capacity to generated revenue and support its need to become financially self sufficient. He/she will work with VBTC General Manager, relevant staff from the commercial Department and the Vois Blong Yumi project Team Leader to provide assistance in the following areas:

• Developing sales generating strategies for VBTC

• Developing sales promotional concepts for VBTC

• Training in sales and marketing techniques

• Overall customer services improvements
