| The World Health Organisation in Vanuatu invites application from women and men for the position of Administration Assistant based in WHO CLO office in Port Vila. |
| By her (his) role and functions in the WHO Country Liaison Office and team in Vanuatu, the incumbent will contribute to the overall growth of WHO’s support to health and development in Vanuatu: |
| “To ensure a functional health prevention and care system having the capacity to deliver responsive quality services that are accessible, affordable and equitable for all populations of Vanuatu”. |

| Under the supervision of the WHO Country Liaison Officer (WHO CLO) in Vanuatu, with the support of WHO Office for the South Pacific (Suva, Fiji) and WHO Regional Office (Manila, Philippines). The Administrative Assistant will be responsible to manage adequately administrative, financial and secretarial activities for the well functioning of the WHO |
| Country Liaison Office to support the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Vanuatu and, eventually, its health partners. |

| An initial contract of one year, starting on the 1st of July 2012, and including a probationary period of three months, will be offered for the post. This contract should be expended to a series of long term contract of two years, based on satisfactory and performance. Selected candidates should provide a medical clearance by an UN physician and |
| endorsed by WHO regional medical service. |
| Based on qualification and experience, the remuneration is determined by the United Nations salary scale and follows an annual indexation based on performance evaluation. The position provides social and security benefits and health insurance for the employee and direct family dependants. |

| Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| Criteria: |
| - Completion of secondary school education with formal training in general administrative work, including accounting theories and principles; Formal or self training in the use of standard office |
| software and/or training an oracle-based or other ERP systems is an asset |
| - Thorough knowledge of office procedures, including accounting principles and the ability to acquire quickly knowledge of WHO procedures, rules and regulations; Excellent organisational, |
| communication and interpersonal skills |
| - Ability to act with tact, diplomacy, discretion, and respect for confidentiality; Good typing and ability to take dictation at required speed ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team is |
| essential; Ability to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and maintain a high standards of personal conduct |
| - At least six years experience including in finance/accounting activities and general administration, preferably in WHO or in other international organisation. |
