Participants will work alongside YCA’s partner organisations, local counterparts, and local communities to build the capacity and strengthen the sustainability of local |

| The successful candidate will work as a member of staff at the Lalkoko Primary School. They will split their time between teaching Sport and helping establish the newly built library. The candidate, working with little equipment, will run daily sport activities, in conjunction with their Ni-Vanuatu counterpart, that will involve the whole school and they |
| will focus on making sport a regular part of the school day again. They will also spend time in the new library helping to set it up, put systems in place to ensure the library is well used and taken care of. In addition the candidate will spend some time researching funding opportunities and writing proposals to assist the school in gaining further |
| funding to build more classrooms and to get more books for the library. Some simple administrative tasks may also be required by the headmaster as well as classroom assistance. |

Selected candidates are required to be extremely flexible and willing to provide support in any area that is needed. This position is a voluntary basis with living allowance, subject to probation |

| Project duties: |
| 1) Reports to Lalkoko School Head Master, Youth Challenge Vanuatu and YCA Program Manager |
| 2) Plan and teach daily sport lessons in a range of different sports |
| 3) Assist in the running of the library and put in place any necessary systems to ensure it runs smoothly and effectively and is used as a resource by all the students |
| 4) Search for further funding opportunities for Lalkoko school |
| 5) Assist with other tasks as and when required by the headmaster. |
| Interested applicant must possess the following requirement: |
| Criteria: |
| - Vanuatu citizenship; Aged between 18 and 30 (at the time of departure); Experience planning and teaching/coaching sporting activities; High level of french and english language, fluency preferred; |
| Interest /experience in working in rural communities |
| - A knowledge and commitment to Youth Challenge Vanuatu’s mission, vision, values; Teaching experience, as working as an assistant teacher may sometimes be required; Experience working in a |
| Library; Experience working with people from other cultures. |
