The United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) works across the UN system, with National Governments and NGOs to support & achieve Gender Equality and increase the accountability of Governments to Gender Equality commitments. In order to better achieve these aims, UNIFEM Pacific, has set up offices in a number of Pacific Island Countries.

Vanuatu is a focus country for many of its programmes and therefore has an office in Port Vila. Currently in office are the outgoing Country Projects Coordinator and the National Coordinator and Administrator for the Gender Equality in Political Governance Programme. This is one of UNIFEM’s largest programmes, aimed at achieving more gender equality in the field of

politics and governance. However UNIFEM also has various other projects active in Vanuatu for which they need a dynamic and confident Country Projects Coordinator. The Country Projects Coordinator will be based in the UNIFEM office and will liaise with the UNIFEM Pacific Regional Office based in Suva, Fiji to provide the technical expertise required to implement

UNIFEM planning and Programming in Vanuatu.
