The We Rise Coalition is an ongoing partnership between feminist organization's working to advance gender equality and the human rights of women and people of diverse identities in the Pacific.
The Coalition believes that diverse women can achieve transformative change when we work together through a vibrant, coordinated and sustainable feminist movement.
The We Rise Coalition program is supported by the Australian Government. The program is led by a dynamic coalition of six feminist organizations: the Fiji Women's Rights Movement (Fiji), femLINKpacific (Fiji), Voice for Change (PNG), Brown Girl Woke (Samoa), Sista (Vanuatu) and the International Women's Development Agency (Australia).

To develop, demonstrate and strengthen feminist coalitions and partnerships in order to grow and uphold inclusive governance, equality, diversity, justice and women's human rights.
The We Rise Coalition cooperates in joint actions; we join our strengths, resources and networks together towards a common vision: a Pacific where there is gender justice, ecological sustainability, peace, freedom, equality and human rights for all.
Our work is focused at local, national, regional (the Pacific) and global levels.
Job Desctiption:
We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the fulltime position of a Communications Coordinator. This role sits in Sista but is a coalition-based role. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with Sista's Communication and Advocacy Coordinator and Sista team. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing communications activities including media engagement, email marketing, social media, website maintenance and the development of compelling messages and content to promote the We Rise Coalition and its objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Coordinate the design, development and implementation of the We Rise 3 Coalition Communications Strategy, including advocacy and action plans that support best practice in event planning and public relations
ii. Coordinate internal communications between partners.
iii. Lead, develop and manage media relations for the We Rise Coalition including social media visibility, media releases, donor communication, coordinating media interviews and maintaining an updated media database
iv. Plan and manage the design, content and production of all We Rise Coalition communications materials
v. Prepare detailed media evaluation activity reports for communications advocacy or activities on behalf of We Rise Coalition;
vi. Work with the We Rise Coalition partners to generate new ideas and strategies
vii. Manage and respond to communication related issues, with the support of partners that may arise on behalf of the We Rise Coalition
viii. Coordinate and develop We Rise Coalition website and social media platforms
Functional Skills Required:
• Strategic and critical thinking are required.
• Analytical writing and being able to write compelling stories.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Support and demonstrate coalition values and competencies
• Experience working with research and data communications
• Graphic design skills will be highly valued.
• Ability to work around flexibility due to the nature of work.
Selection Criteria:
Education and Experience:
• 1-2 year's relevant experience in this field or any similar area or role.
• Preference will be given to those who have studied communications, media, public relations, or journalism.
• Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to present information and ideas simply and clearly to a range of audiences
• Demonstrated experience in the use of digital communication technologies and the creation of digital content, including website maintenance and use of social media
• Experience developing and maintaining strong, effective relationships with stakeholders, including media
• Experience in gender and development work is favourable.
• Proven experience creating targeted content
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders

60, 000 VT to 100, 000 VT per Month based on experience
