Selection Criteria:

Required
Native or fluent in both written & spoken French
Commitment towards delivering exceptional customer services to internal and external customers via phone and email
Fast learner who can master multiple new systems, with proficiency at multi-tasking and adapting to changing circumstances
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and collaborating effectively in a virtual team environment
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English are essential
Previous experience in customer services in French language is essential
Valid Passport

Prefer (not essential)
At least 1-2 years of experience in call centre environment or travel and tourism sector is desirable
Airline experience would be an added advantage
Considerable working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Exposure or similar experience will be highly regarded

PacWastePlus Programme:
The Pacific – European Union (EU) Waste Management Programme, PacWastePlus, is a 72-month programme funded by the EU and implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) to improve regional management of waste and pollution sustainably and cost effectively. Priority waste streams include hazardous wastes (specifically asbestos, E-waste and healthcare waste), solid wastes (specifically recyclables, organic waste, disaster waste and bulky waste) and related aspects of wastewater. Countries participating in the PacWastePlus programme are: Cook Islands, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

GEF ISLANDS:
The Global Environment Facility Implementing Sustainable Low and Non-Chemical Development in Small Island Developing States (ISLANDS) Programme supports 33 Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) across the Caribbean, Indian and Pacific Oceans to safely and sustainably manage chemical and hazardous waste. A global project connects and facilitates SIDS-SIDS learning across and between project regions including through dedicated communities of practice on the Green Forum.

Project Officer – to provide in-country co-ordination of the ISLANDS & PacWastePlus Projects at the Department of Environment Protection and Conservation (DEPC), Vanuatu


 

Selection Criteria:

SPREP is seeking to engage an experienced Project Officer (Service Based Consultancy) to assist with the implementation of the ISLANDS project & PacWastePlus programme activities.
The project officer is expected to work on a full-time  basis (subject to periodic review) until Quarter 1, 2025.

The position will be based in Port Vila at either the DEPC or SPREP Offices.

Submissions are due 15 February 2023, midnight (Apia, Samoa local time). Late submissions will be returned unopened to the sender.

Job Desctiption:

The position of Financial Controller manages the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department.  Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.  The role has dual reporting responsibility to the Resort General Manager and Regional Financial Controller (RFC).

 

Selection Criteria:

 Responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of accurate general ledger, receivables, payable, stock, payroll systems;
• Timely preparation of monthly financial statements, cash flows, and forecasts;
• Preparation of annual budget;
• Maintenance of internal controls including cost and credit controls;
• Daily cash flow and working capital management;
• Supervision, development and upskilling of the finance team;
• Execute timely and accurate preparation of annual statutory financial statements;
• Oversee internal, external and regulatory audit processes;
• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, encourage others;
• Support financial/business decision making, demonstrating honesty/integrity, leads by example;
• Support and attend Ad-hoc projects as assigned and/or required by the RFC.

The suitable candidate must possess the following attributes:
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting.
• Preferably have minimum of 3 years in this role or similar seniority.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
• Established competency in computerized systems.
