The Ministry of Justice and Community Services (MJCS) is responsible
for, or provides support to, a number of agencies within the justice system:
the courts (Supreme, Magistrates, Island Courts), the tribunals, the
correctional centres, child rights, family protection, disability advocacy
and services, empowerment of women, and public prosecution and defence
services as well as legal advice to government. It also provides support to
agencies that review law, make new laws and implement relevant UN Conventions
including those that relate to the matters described above as well as
safeguarding human rights.

Selection Criteria

- Bachelor level degree
qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 3+ years’ relevant experience including Contract Administration and Construction Supervision - Familiar with General Conditions of Contract (AS2124 preferred but not essential) - Experience in working autonomously - Experience in structural/civil analysis and design for commercial, defence, health, education and institutional building projects - Relevant experience in reinforced concrete, steel & timber design - Design experience in cyclone and earthquake engineering - Ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities and other consultants - Proficiency in design software - Familiarity with building codes |
