Organisation Description
The Ministry of Justice and Community Services (MJCS) is responsible for, or provides support to, a number of agencies within the justice system: the courts (Supreme, Magistrates, Island Courts), the tribunals, the correctional centres, child rights, family protection, disability advocacy and services, empowerment of women, and public prosecution and defence services as well as legal advice to government. It also provides support to agencies that review law, make new laws and implement relevant UN Conventions including those that relate to the matters described above as well as safeguarding human rights.

Selection Criteria
Qualification Bachelor / Degree
Special Business Education: Journalism, Media, Communication and other relevant field
Experience : Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position or organisation.
Special Skills : Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Time management and organisational skills
Computer, desktop publishing skills, experience in web design
Flexibility ( many different activities happening at once)
Creativity to communicate in different ways
The ability to form and maintain relationships through teamwork and networking

Job Description
Our office in Port Vila has been established for over 30 years and has been a part of some of the major projects that have developed the country into what it is today. With an increasing portfolio of work in hand, we are looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our experienced team of professionals.

As a Project Engineer you will gain experience in a number of high-profile building and infrastructure projects for local, international and donor funded clients. You will be developed and mentored by an enthusiastic leader and will be involved in various projects from inception through to delivery.

Selection Criteria
- Bachelor level degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 3+ years’ relevant experience including Contract Administration and Construction Supervision
- Familiar with General Conditions of Contract (AS2124 preferred but not essential)
- Experience in working autonomously
- Experience in structural/civil analysis and design for commercial, defence, health, education and institutional building projects
- Relevant experience in reinforced concrete, steel & timber design
- Design experience in cyclone and earthquake engineering
- Ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities and other consultants
- Proficiency in design software
- Familiarity with building codes
