Job Description: Telecom Vanuatu Limited is seeking for a Power Officer to be based in Port Vila.  Missions The mission is to install, commission, maintain and document power systems throughout Vanuatu, including grid and off-grid power systems. Activities: Maintain and service Power supply in urban and isolated sites on TVL network Maintain and monitoring rural power systems, liaise with care takers for weekly Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure the rural power is always in normal operations Fault diagnostic and Report on the quality of technical aspects, Implement Preventive/ Corrective mission on sites Maintain all electrical systems in all TVL buildings Manage generator fuel and fuel logistic to all TVL sites Update and record the power spare parts stock Supervise and assisting junior staffs in power department. Criteria: Knowledge Certificate or diploma in electricity or electrical engineering Knowledge in electro mechanic Knowledge in Reporting (Excel table) and mailing Experience in power systems including grid and off-grid power systems Skills Speak English / French and Bislama Ability to follow directions and procedures Customer and service oriented Have a Valid Driver’s Licence Personal characteristics Take initiative to do things Reliable Adaptability Autonomy Honest Healthy Able to work under pressure, and meeting date lines Able to travel on mission throughout Vanuatu. INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Organisation & Position Overview Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO) delivers regional safety oversight services for the Pacific region, providing aviation regulatory oversight services that complement and enhance the member states oversight of their civil aviation activities. Aviation safety and security regulation is not negotiable. It is an obligation under international treaties entered into by the Pacific Island States and a prerequisite for maintaining international and domestic air services. PASO operates to support and assist member States to meet their contracted regulatory obligations by providing high standards of safety and security oversight and ongoing surveillance. As a result of recent organisational changes expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now invited from individuals with experience and skills to fulfill the role of Support Officer based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience to carry out the work as summarized below: Duties and Responsibilities The Support Officer is responsible for the provision of reception, general office, and administrative services and support to the PASO Head Office. You will work closely with all PASO office staff, and will relate well to people and provide appropriate and timely support to PASO Office Staff as required. Key Accountabilities The role requires a high level of tact, diplomacy, and communication with participants through respecting cultures and norms of the Pacific region as you engage with a variety of individuals and senior officials in Vanuatu and across the Pacific. The successful candidate will be able to interchange quickly between general office administration requirements, have their finger on the pulse, and be proactive in their provision of support to the operational and financial administrative requirements of the PASO office.
