The Vanuatu Provincial
Office in Luganville, Santo seeks applicants for the position of a Program
Support staff. This is a position for fixed term contract for 30 months
commencing in early 2017 to June 2019, with a view of extending beyond, that
subject to funding.
Responsible:
General
Secretary of ACOM through the Deputy General Secretary in Vanuatu and
Melanesian Board of Mission through the Vanuatu Assistant Mission Secretary.
Position Summary:
The ACOMV Livelihoods and Women’s Empowerment
Project is funded by Australian Government’s ANCP program in partnership with
Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA), and implemented by ACOMV, AOA is an Overseas
Relief & Development Agency of the Anglican Church of Australia based in
Melbourne. The project
sought three main development objectives: to increase ACOMV’s knowledge and
capacity to respond to issues facing women and youth in communities; to assist
women and youth with livelihoods activities to improve their living standards;
and to minimize social issues facing women and youth in communities through
increase knowledge and self-esteem.
Key
responsibilities
Under
the direction of the Project Manager:
- Support
Program Delivery; implement activities as project’s yearly plans, liaising with
stakeholders and monitoring livelihood projects. Facilitate the establishment
of self-reliance projects (SRP) in close consultation with ACOMV SRP Committee.
Co-ordinate distributions of approved SRP materials. Monthly checks on project
activities, collect and collate data for reporting purposes.
- Networking
and Partnership; assist with managing the partnership between ACOM Vanuatu and
AOA. Strengthen networks with new and current partners and stakeholders, and
foster relationships with local development and civil society organizations.
Strengthen collaboration with women’s’ groups, such as Mothers Union through
project activities implementations. Establish and maintain good working
relationship with staff in ACOM Vanuatu Provincial Office, the Diocese of Banks
and Torres and the Diocese of Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
- Monitoring
& Evaluation; participate actively in M&E of field activities and
partners capacity building. Oversee regular field monitoring and reporting on
project components. Provide feedback on program activities to communities and
other stakeholders. Assist in documenting project activities, processes and
lessons learned.
Criteria:
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Year
12/13 Leaver, with certificate in management/project management
- Three
or more years’ experience in managing development programs and activities
- An
ability to relate to others and communicate well, both verbally and in writing
in English
- Willingness
to undertake travel to other provinces and remote areas
- Sound
personal organization and a constructive approach to problem-solving
- Willingness
to work overtime, weekends and public holidays as required
- A
committed and devoted Christian
- Be
able to abide by the Christian values as outlined in the ACOM Code of Ethics.
Desirable
- Be able to follow instructions and advice and can handle
pressure
- Honest, reliable, self-motivated and can work without
supervision
- Computer
literate.

| The
salary of the successful applicant will be Level 5.3 on the Anglican Church of
Melanesia salary structure. Other benefits & allowances will be governed by
the terms and conditions of service for the ACOM under the General Guidelines
of Services for Church Employees.
