        Criteria:
        We are looking for a WASH Officer (Hygiene Promotion) to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to Outer Islands.
        The WASH Officer (Hygiene Promotion) is responsible for the design and implementation of all hygiene promotion activities of CARE International in Vanuatu’s WASH program. This will entail supervising Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST) activities with communities, including supporting community volunteer Hygiene Promoters to facilitate the development and implementation of their outreach plans to improve hygiene and sanitation behavior. In addition, the WASH Officer (Hygiene Promotion) will develop and disseminate hygiene promotion messages through participatory, interactive activities with communities in coordination with non-food item distributions and other WASH program activities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about encouraging hygiene and sanitation behavior change within their community, and will have experience with community mobilization. (S)he will have the skills to engage women and girls, young people, older people, and people with disabilities in discussions around WASH issues. The role involves working in a team and coordinating with government, community, and other WASH implementing organizations in Tafea Province. 

        Required qualification and skills
        • Good qualification with skills in project designs and implementation
        • Knowledge of one or more of the following: public health, health or hygiene promotion, community development, education, or community water supply and sanitation
        • At least two years of practical experience in community development, health, WASH, or similar programs and ability to mobilize communities
        • Written and oral fluency in English, Bislama, and Tanna local languages required
        • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the particular needs of women and other marginalized people in WASH
        • Demonstrated ability to take direction and to work as part of a team
        • Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs
        • Strong communication skills and ability to deliver clear messages to large groups
        • Ability to work independently and efficiently
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, or the ability to learn quickly
        • Willingness to be based in Tanna and travel to the outer islands.

                    We are looking for a WASH Officer with Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Skills Background to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to Outer Islands.

                    The WASH Officer (Gender Equity and Social Inclusion) is responsible for the ensuring that gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) is mainstreamed across all CARE International in Vanuatu WASH programming. This will entail providing training to CARE staff, government, and communities on GESI, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and protection; piloting a menstrual health management program for school girls on Tanna Island; and mainstreaming GESI to ensure that CARE’s WASH programming is responsive to and inclusive of women and girls, young people, older people, and people with disabilities.                           We are looking for a MEAL Coordinator to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to Outer Islands.
                          The WASH Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will be responsible for managing all MEAL activities and staff, including monitoring and evaluation, strengthening program quality and accountability, promoting learning and reporting of WASH programs in line with CARE’s monitoring and evaluation system. The successful candidate will have experience managing MEAL activities, and will have the skills to engage women and girls, young people, older people, and people with disabilities in WASH MEAL activities. The role involves supervising the MEAL unit staff, coordinating with other members of the WASH team, government, and communities.

                          Required qualifications and skills
                          • Bachelor degree in a related field (monitoring and evaluation, development studies, humanitarian program management, etc.) Master’s degree preferred
                          • Minimum of five years working experience that includes monitoring and evaluation duties. Experience working in an international NGO preferred
                          • Experience supervising a team of at least three staff; experience with remote management preferred
                          • Leadership, organizing, planning and problem solving skills
                          • Training and facilitation skills
                          • Very good English and Bislama language skills (written and oral) required; local Tanna languages desired
                          • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and meet agreed deadlines
