Transaction Advisory Services to the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu (GoV) for the tender of the Luganville Electricity Concession in Santo Island Job Description:

The Ministry of Climate Change is responsible for activities in relation to meteorological services, geo-hazards, energy, environment and national disaster management, including general administration matters. The Ministry's role is to provide advice on these areas and to provide policy directions on all programs involving these matters. The Luganville electricity concession had expired on 31 December 2010 and the GoV had granted to the Vanuatu Utilities and Infrastructure (VUI) to manage and operate the concession until a new contract is awarded. The purpose of this document is to invite Expression of Interest to provide transaction advisory services to the GoV. The GoV intends to procure the services of a Transaction Advisor representing a team of suitably qualified and experienced financial technical and legal advisors to help with this tender and procurement process. The Governments aim is to attract private sector participation to generate, transmit, distribute and supply electrical energy to the public and other corporate bodies or private individuals within the Luganville electricity concession. The Vanuatu Society for People with Disabilities (VSDP) is looking for an early childhood or primary school teacher to help us improve the outcomes for clients in our Early Intervention program. The Early Intervention (EI) program helps children with disabilities and their parents/carers. The classes include activities to promote communication, movement, social and practical life skill development. The recently expanded program runs from Monday to Thursday, at four different community centres around Port Vila. Many children who attend EI classes will transition to school. Therefore, we are looking to enhance the EI class structure and content to include school readiness skills, while ensuring our program continues to focus on client goals and developing communication, movement, social and practical life skills. With support of a project officer and EI team, the successful applicant will review our current program so it aligns with national early childhood education policies and other national documents on education. Contract length is 12 months. Responsibilities Assess current Early Intervention class structure and content against current national education policies and documents  Suggest changes to EI class structure to include school readiness skills Develop a guide/scheme of work describing the new EI class structure and content Make changes by training EI staff on using the developed guide and on planning lessons  Work with VSDP staff, clients and their families, and community members to help clients get better outcomes Follow VSDP policies and procedures including the code of conduct and child protection policy Attend, participate and contribute to staff meetings.
