The IRCCNH project overall objective is to increase the resilience of the communities in Vanuatu to the impacts of climate variability and change, and natural hazards, on food and water security, as well as livelihoods. The IRCCNH project intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing allocated to the Department of Geology, Mines and Water Resources (DGMWR) to payments for the services of a Provincial Water Planner - Tafea Province.
The Tafea Provincial Water Planner will focus his/her support on component 4 of the IRCCNH Project: "Rural Water Security: Increased Access to secure water supply" which objective is to secure water supply in rural areas of Vanuatu. Activities include:
- Updating Rural Water Supply standards and guidelines for rural water supply provision, then improving outreach to partners working in the sector
- Installing water supply systems to rural communities.
The following minimum qualifications are required.
Criteria:
- Degree in field relevant to Intergrated Water Resources Management, Water Engineering, or Earth Science (Hydrology/Hydrogeology) and/or Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Management
- Minimum of 5 years piratical experience at a project management level
- Water supply engineering experience and good practical (Pluming/engineering) skills.
