The Vanuatu Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce, and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB) is seeking the services of a national expert to support an international cattle value chain expert to identify, prioritize and cost interventions suitable to strengthen the cattle/beef value chain in Vanuatu. The study is in preparation for funding support to the value chain agreed between the Vanuatu Government and the European Union. The support to the study of the cattle/beef value chain will be both logistical and technical in nature. In terms of logistics, the national expert will be responsible for facilitating meetings with stakeholders in Port Vila and the other locations selected for consultations including the final validation workshop. In terms of technical support, the national expert will ensure that the international expert is aware of the local context and in extension that the proposed interventions are sensitive to aspects specific to Vanuatu. |
Criteria: Applicants must: |
• Hold a university degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Economics or other relevant fields. Alternatively, a professional experience in a related field of at least seven (7) years. • Have experience in interfacing with private and public sector at various levels; and • Be proficient in spoken and written English and Bislama. Good understanding of French would be an advantage. The national expert will report to the international expert based on a detailed work plan to be agreed at the beginning of the assignment, and including specific deliverables. |

The value of the contract is VUV 600,000, which will be paid upon achievement on agreed milestones within a period of 40 working days. |
