Youth Challenge Vanuatu is seeking for two interested candidates to undertake the position of the field staff at a voluntarily basis for a period of 2 – 3 months located Port Vila.

These positions are the key facilitators of Youth Challenge Vanuatu Community projects. They provide leadership, timely decision making and facilitate the learning process for a team of youth participants. The person will liaise with the community leaders including all the beneficiaries of the project and will be responsible for the overall implementation of the community development

project goals, objectives and activities.

Below are the main roles and responsibilities for the field staffs before, during and after the projects.

• Coordinate the Implementation of the core community projects;

• Overseeing the implementation of Small Team Projects in accordance with the YCV Small Team Projects Guide;

• Coordinate the team of volunteers with their reports especially for the Small Team Projects and taking up leading role in writing up the big report to be submitted to YCV.

• Establishing a productive relationship / connection between host community members and the VOICE/YCVgroups;

• Challenger team-building, training & orientation;

• Providing leadership, administrative, logistical and other support to Challenger team while in the field;

• Understanding YCV policies and ensuring that challengers and GLs follow ALL YCV policies and immediately reporting any breaches of policy to the YCV office;

• Weekly phone communications with, and reports to, the YCV Project Manager or nominated staff member;

• Assist with closure logistics and preparation.

• Assist with post-project monitoring and evaluation tasks.

• Assist with post-project logistics.

• Assist other YCV program coordinators as required.

"TRR is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and self-driven IT Administrator who will play a key role in leading, managing, coordinating and supporting TRR’s core IT systems and operations and other IT/ICT related responsibilities.

Operational specifications and formulating

and analyzing software requirements may be required; Assisting the Manager Corporate in planning, initiating, and managing IT related projects, guiding and supporting the work of the IT Administration & IT Officer, and other TRR staff, and in serving as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects, as required; Writing and maintaining TRR’s IT/ICT Policies and

specifications; Assisting the planning, acquisition, implementation and operation of IT equipment and software to enable the achievement of the organization’s objectives and the security and integrity of its IT systems; Ensuring infrastructure systems and services are operating at optimal level to ensure TRR’s operations function, and that there is high availability and recoverability.

O Display the ability to think logically and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, determine how IT systems will work best in TRR and how potential changes in conditions, operations, and the environment might affect outcomes;

o Display the ability to identify and promptly resolve complex IT/ICT problems, communicate clearly, promptly resolve TRR staff IT/ICT problems and proactively and promptly review related information and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;

The School WASH Project Officer reports to the WASH Sanitation Marketing Project Coordinator and is responsible for the administration of the School WASH Project in peri-urban areas of Port Vila in Shefa and Luganville in Sanma Provinces, the management and delivery of WASH activities and budgets, timely reporting, regular monitoring and evaluation of project achievements.

1. A suitable undergraduate qualification in any discipline relating to water engineering, sciences, field of social sciences – public health or teaching.

2. Some work experience working in water, sanitation, health and hygiene management or working in an NGO setting.

3. Solid experience in hosting public awareness and hygiene promotion activities.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and Bislama with some understanding of French is desired;

• Experience with installation and maintenance of hand-washing facilities, water filtration, water quality and sanitation, health & hygiene infrastructures such as Ventilated Improved (VIP) Pits, Compost Toilets, Pour Flush and Flush Toilet Systems;

• Experience to develop and implement PHAST trainings;

• Proven experience in implementing WASH projects, workshop facilitation and giving presentations in both formal and non-formal settings;

The Hygiene Promotion Officer is required to undertake the following project tasks and activities:

Criteria:

1. Ensure the correct implementation of the activities defined by the WASH Sanitation Marketing (SM) Project Coordinator.

2. Assess and update Hygiene Promotion activities needs (HR, financial, logistics etc).

3. Prepare training materials and conduct trainings for program beneficiaries, for the selected community-based sanitation enterprises (CBSE) and selected schools.

4. Write minutes/reports on the HP activities.

5. Identify the community’s training needs on hygiene practices (sanitation, hand-washing, water quality).

6. Organize regular meetings with community members, leaders, women’s groups, teachers and students to develop their knowledge of water quality, sanitation and hygienic practices.

7. Participate in the design and implementation of WASH assessments, surveys or any other project identification studies in collaboration and coordination with the WASH SM Project Coordinator.

8. Attend local WASH meetings or project-related community meetings in coordination with the WASH SM Program Coordinator.

9. Participate in the writing of any technical documents related to the implementation of WASH activities (for any terms of reference, surveys, technical evaluation and final reports, etc.).

10. Produce reports/minutes with conclusions, recommendations and action points resulting from any meetings or field visits.

11. Any other duties as requested by the WASH SM Project Coordinator or the Country Manager.
