SOUTH PACIFIC REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMME - VANUATU

The South Pacific Regional Development Programme (SPRDP) - Vanuatu is seeking suitable candidates to join its Founding Board of Directors (BoD) to provide strategic direction to SPRDP Vanuatu, become established within Vanuatu and assist with the establishment of an executive and source operational funding .

The Founding Board comprises a maximum 6 members including the Chairperson and a mix of appointed independent candidates.

The SPRDP – Vanuatu is a foundation organisation within Vanuatu and the BoD will comprise the founding members of the organisation, and must commit to remaining with the organisation for a minimum of 6 months, except in the event of extenuating circumstances.

The successful applicant will have a balance of expertise, gender, age and community representation.

The Board of Directors will meet at least 4 times per annum. In its initial stages this BoD will comprise a working Board as per the terms of the Constitution of the SPRDP.

SPRDP Vanuatu’s Board members will be required to undertake a Vanuatu National Police Check and endorse SPRDP Vanuatu’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, Fraud Control and Counter Terrorism and Anti-Money Laundering Policy and Procedures.

About the utilities Regulatory Authority

The URA was set up under the utilities Regulatory Authority Act No. 11 of 2007. The Authority acts independently of the Government and its primary purpose is to increase access to safe, reliable and affordable electricity and water services, and to promote the long-term interests of consumers throughout Vanuatu. In addition, the Authority assists to resolve consumer complaints and

disputes and advises the Government on matters related to electricity and water. It also reviews tariffs under the rules of the Concessions Agreements and relevant legislation.
