VLIP is an AusAID funded program which started in March this year and is designed to provide sector wide support to the Vanuatu law and justice sector. and monitoring, as well as capacity development and support for evidence-based policy development.

The position will commence in October 2012 and will be for a total input of 90 days.

Duties and responsibilities:

1) The Budget Adviser will work with the MoJCS and Government of Vanuatu legal sector agencies to accurately forecast the costs of agency annual plans and business plans

2) Strengthen and streamline financial and budgeting capacity

3) Review expenditure and undertake budget analysis

4) Develop indicators to monitor financial management in line with annual and business plans

5) Undertake budget and financial management training sessions

6) Support financial planning, budgeting and annual budget submissions to Treasury.
