| The Department of Forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is implementing a Vanuatu Forest Conservation and Protected Area Management Project. The Project needs the services of a National Coordinator. The |
| position will be housed at the Department of Forests at Tagabe, Port Vila. The project has a life of 4 years starting from 15th January 2012 to 14 February 2015. |

| Forestry Conservation and Protected Area Management Project is funded by the Global Environment Facility-Pacific Alliance for Sustainability (GEF-PAS), and is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Land and Natural Resource and Food and Agriculture Organization of the Unit Nations (FAO). The Vanuatu Forestry |
| Conservation and Protected Area Management project is part of the overall regional project covering four countries, Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa and Niue. Each country will be implementing its own set of activities independently using resources already allocated for each country. At the regional level there will be some joint activities mainly in the area of |
| capacity building and exchange of information and experienced. The overall goals of the projects are to strengthen institutional capacities in projected area management, established new protected areas, raise awareness and develop sustainable financial mechanisms. |

| - A university degree in biology, conservation, environmental management or related field; Five years of relevant professional experience, including experience of biodiversity conservation and |
| protected area management; Excellent oral and written communication skills in english; Familiarity with forest management and conservation issues in the country |
| - Knowledge and experience of field-survey techniques appropriate to biodiversity conservation and protected area management; Demonstrated capacity for analysis and technical report writing; Two |
| years projects management experience; Strong leadership skills |
| - Familiarity with the work of FAO and the GEF; Computer literacy. |
