Jastis Blong Evriwan (JBE) is part of a World Bank multi-country research and development program that seeks to improve the effectiveness of broader development efforts by addressing the justice and conflict— resolution aspects of their work. It is an approach that;

• sees justice from the perspective of local communities;

• is based on in—depth understanding of the social and cultural context;

Locality studies on access to justice, local governance, and land and natural resource management will be the cornerstone the JBE program’s initial research.

The program is currently looking for potential researchers to join the JBL research team in carrying out in-depth field studies in selected communities throughout Vanuatu. The researchers will be based in Port Vila but will require travel to outer islands and extensive stay in remote communities.

Primary Responsibilities of the Researchers:

• Assist in planning, organising and conducting field research activities

• Provide insights into the findings of field research, using substantial local knowledge (political, institutional, cultural etc...)

• Assist in authoring research reports, briefing notes, policy papers and other materials as required.

• Assist with dissemination of program findings to relevant stakeholders.

This position is open to ni-Vanuatu nationals only for an initial period of 6 months (with a possibility of extension)

The Vanuatu Church Partnership Program (VCPP) is an AusAID-funded program aimed

at enabling the Vanuatu Christian Council and Churches in Vanuatu, both individually and

The VCPP is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and skilled person with strong Christian value

• Facilitate networking and ongoing relationships between the Churches and Church agencies of the VCPP,

• Foster networking between the churches, Gov-Vanuatu, AusAlD, Traditional Vanuatu leadership, Vanuatu Council of Churches, PNGCPR Vanuatu Women’s Group, and Australian NGO’s;

• Prepare annual VCPP Secretariat work plans and related budgets that enable the effective

coordination of the Program in Vanuatu;

• Undertake logistical arrangements for program wide events and meeting of Partnership Group and Governing Council;

• Ensure a high level of accountability, transparency and participation throughout the program.
