Job Description:  The Shefa Provincial Council wishes to recruit a suitable person to fill in the position mentioned above and to assist in the implementation of the Physical Planning Act No. 22 of 1986 and other Physical Planning legislation as required.  Key Responsibilities: Clearly understand all requirements of the Physical Planning Act No. 22 of 1986 and ensure that SHEFA Provincial Council is abiding by the Act and abiding by the legislation for all physical Planning activities Administration of applications under the Physical Planning (CAP193) and Foreshore Development (CAP90) Acts Provide accurate advice on Physical Planning to Area Councils, communities and other agencies as required Provide information and respond to queries on Physical Planning in a timely manner Undertake field surveys and collection and analysis of data as required and to prepare suitable plans for the purpose of record keeping Undertake site visits or surveys in the Province and application sites Attend all meetings as required Check and keep a register of all Planning applications Provide training for Area Secretaries/Area Councils on zoning and Physical Planning developments in the Physical Planning Zone of SHEFA Manage the collection of all Physical Planning building permit fees including attaching the report and transaction to the Finance Unit to enable an accurate report to be created for SPC Management and Council. Other duties may be requested by the Head of Planning and Economic Section or by Council.

Criteria: Minimum age of 30 years Desirable to a Degree or Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography or a related subject At least 5 years planning experience in the Government or Public Sector Proficiency in spoken and written English, French and Bislama High level of computer literacy and ability to use all relevant applications Staff Management experience Positive working attitude.
