Job Description:
iririki Island resort is looking for a motivated and experience person for the position of a Human Resource -Training Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working
with the Human Resource Manager & Training Manager to develop and implement
HR & Training policies and procedures
- Assist
with new staff orientation/induction programmes, staff handbook and HR
administration resources
- Arrange,
create, produce and distribute training-related material and facilities
- Organize,
administrate and set up training programmes, sessions, workshops, activities
and events including venue, equipment, materials, information packs and
catering
- Assist in
implementation and execution of training programmes, scheduling attendees,
organizing training material, compiling, processing and recording training
assessment and evaluation forms for all company employees
- Monitor
daily attendance, investigate and understand causes for staff absences
- Monitor
scheduled absences such as annual leave, sick and/or maternity leave, and
coordinate actions to ensure the staff absence has been adequately covered off
to ensure continuity of services
- Inform
affected staff of unexpected absences from work and coordinate actions ensuring
the continuity of services such as cancellation of events and locating keys
- Promote
workplace health & safety, administer first aid
- Provide
advice and assistance to staff and management on Labour issues, employment and
VNPF
- Organize
the transitional provisions of employee compensation, pay and benefits when
positions are transferred or newly created

Criteria:
- A training or HR
qualification or similar is ideally required. The post holder must have strong
user level IT skills, especially MS Office Suite including PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of English and Bislama, with French an advantage
- Be able to explain employment standards and legislation such as workers
compensation, labour standards, VNPF and the Vanuatu Employment Act
- Previous Human Resource and Training experience within a large organisation
(especially Hotel/Resort) is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required, able to liaise and work closely
with people at all levels, as well as external contacts
