Café Vila at Nasama Resort in Pango is looking for a Duty Manager to join their close-knit team. 
Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Report to the Food & Beverage Manager
  • Supervise the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
  • Ensure all staff are punctual and well presented
  • Ensure chefs are adhering to the menu, check quality, portion sizes and presentation of food, and that meals are going out in a timely manner
  • Train and check wait staff on quality of customer service, food and wine service, table set up of linen, glassware, dinnerware, placement of utensils
  • Check ambiance in the restaurant by controlling lighting, background music and temperature
  • Meet and greet customers and ensure customer satisfaction with meals
  • Handle any customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Check daily stock levels and order supplies; perform and analyze monthly stock takes
  • Shop for supplies required during shift
  • Prepare cash drawers and top up petty cash as required; balance the cash received at the end of each shift.
This is a full time position and the successful candidate must have the following qualifications: 
        Criteria:
        • Experience as Duty Manager in a restaurant or hotel
        • Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French and Bislama will be an advantage
        • Must hold a current driver’s licence and be a competent driver
        • Be computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
        • Be able to work nights, weekends and public holidays and be flexible with shifts
        • Have excellent people management, customer service, communication, problem solving, organisational and teamwork skills.
