A new exciting opportunity exists within the Ministry of Climate Change to be a member of a dynamic team who is responsible for driving the whole-of-government strategic agenda for climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction.
The Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Policy and Planning Officer of the NAB is responsible for providing cross sector coordination, collaboration, analysis of all CC/DRR project, programs, activities and initiatives within Vanuatu. Working under the guidance and direct report of the National Advisory Board Secretariat Strategic Manager, the CC/DRR Project Development Officer will maintain strong relationship with a diverse range of stakeholders that are important collaborators in the NAB's efforts, most notably at the national and regional level acting as the key focal point for donors in the development of new and potentially ongoing CC/DRR projects.
The Successful applicant will possess:
Criteria:
- A degree in community development, project management or related field
- At least 3-5 experience working within the climate change and Disaster Risk Reduction sector
- At least 3 years years in liaison with stakeholder from diverse backgrounds
- At least 3 years project development and management experience
- At least 2-3 years experience working within donor funded projects
- Experience in workshop facilitation
- Excellent cross cultural communication
- Report writing skills
- Project development/proposal writing
- Computer Skills
- Ability to work under pressure and work independently
- English and Bislama, French an advantage.
