              Job Description:
              The United States Peace Corps seeks qualified applicants for the position of Host Family Co-coordinator/Volunteer Support (HFC/VS). The U.S. Peace Corps is an Agency of the United States Government and has served the Republic of Vanuatu since 1985. Peace Corps Vanuatu currently oversees an operation consisting of 65 volunteers who teach English in primary schools, Information Technology in secondary schools, and work as Community Health Facilitators in rural communities.

              The position of HFC/VS works within the Peace Corps Vanuatu Training Team and the Volunteer Support Team. As part of the training team, the HFC assists the Training Manager in all aspects of training operations. The HFC also is responsible for the training of families, who host volunteers both during pre-service training and during a volunteer's service. The HFC also works within a cross disciplinary team to provide support for trainees and volunteers during pre-service training and their 2-year service.

              Ideal applicants for the position of HFC must have: 
                  Criteria:
                  • Prior experience with a volunteer organization within Vanuatu, an understanding of the rural and urban life in Vanuatu, and a strong command of both Bislama and English. Report writing experience, basic computer usage (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint) and adult training experience is desirable. The HFC will be expected to travel on short notice and may live at training sites for up to 10 weeks.
                  • It is a requirement that the successful candidate for this possess a valid driver's license, with the ability t drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
