The ombudsman invites applications for the public service post No.0910 for senior investigator/language rights officer. Duties and responsibilities:

1) Under the delegation of the ombudsman the person is to be the ombudsman’s legal advisor and to represent the ombudsman in litigation

2) Conduct investigations into alleged breached of language rights pursuant to article 64 (2) of the constitution

3) Provision to prepare special reports on the observance of multilingualism in Vanuatu

4) Provision to translate all official documents which includes all ombudsman public and annual report into 3 official languages

5) Performs investigative duties.

- University degree/diploma or equivalent; Has at least 2 years experience in investigations; Computer literate; Good reporting writing and communication skills; Has a good knowledge of the official languages;

Is able to translate into any of the official languages
