Mangoes Resort and The Terraces Boutique Apartments are two boutique properties adjacent to each other located in Port Vila, Vanuatu.  Mangoes Resort has 29 rooms, The Terraces Boutique Apartments comprise of 16 contemporary apartments.  The facilities include well regarded restaurant, 27 pools, tennis court and gym, and 50 staff.

Job Description

Providing assistance to the general manager, by way of day off cover. General office duties and hands on and working with the general manager to ensure the smooth running of the properties. • Accounting tasks • Reservations, general emailing and selling • General office and compliance roles • Other tasks required from time to time • Food and beverage experience a benefit, knowledge of stock control or managing a stock process an advantage • Duty Manager on Manager’s days off

Selection Criteria

Must show intuitive & ability to problem solve Must be fast learning and hands on Ni Vanuatu or Expatriate, no preference  University education or Tourism diploma or previous experience required. However an exceptional younger person willing to learn maybe considered, this person would need to understand the requirements of an overseas traveller, or what the travelling tourist and the industry requires.  Weekend work required, and must be able to work independently. Strong computer skills/fully computer literate in MS Office, have ability to learn, or have used reservations system, POS. An ability to take on a task and follow it through to completion Strong communication and guest relation/service skills, strong oral and written English, and French would be an advantage. A general good “all rounder” that has the ability to handle a range of complex, new and changing situations. The person will be highly service orientated with a positive and outgoing personality and understands the need and expectations of guests in a 4 star plus resort environment. Good time management and able to prioritise multitude demands that are required on a daily basis. Offsite living or onsite living considered Sound knowledge of maths and numbers (currency conversions, and basic accounting)

Salary

Will be determined by the candidates’ skill set and ability to learn tasks. A road to higher management and training will be given. Package varies with variables of accommodation, meals and the ability to “hit the ground running.”
