Organisation Description:
The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) is the national regulator of the post-school education and training (PSET) sector. The VQA regulates PSET courses and providers to ensure nationally approved quality standards are met.
The VQA is one of the key agents in the implementation of the national PSET Policy 2016-2020. The VQA is working in close collaboration with the Tertiary Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Training and with PSET providers to achieve the PSET Policy vision of: A sustainable, well-coordinated and inclusive PSET system that maximises access to relevant and quality assured qualifications that lead to improved economic, social and cultural development opportunities for all.
Job Desctiption:
• The quality assurance officer - provider’s registration is responsible for analysing registration applications submitted by a person or an organization and analyse for the Authority to make informed decisions.
• S/he provides advice to providers on registration processes and how the person/organization can meet registration criteria set by the Authority.
• Ensure the Vanuatu PSET Quality Assurance System is implanted, operational and maintained
• Increase access and increase stakeholder knowledge on accreditation improvement
• Ensure the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) is functional and registration reports are submitted
Selection Criteria:
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Education and/or training on Quality Assurance or Training Assessment)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching and/or dealing with quality assurance, especially, provider registration
• Experience in planning and undertaking PSET providers quality audit
• Experience in operating the PSET system and the National PSET Qualification Framework
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Analytical and practical thinker
• Demonstrate the ability to analyse complex information and provide analysis for decision making
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information, demonstrate confidentiality
• Able to achieve outcomes with minimum supervision
• Respect of self and others and self-motivated and co-operative person
• Fluent in English, Bislama or French
