About the Role:
Ocean Logistics Limited is seeking experienced and licensed 200-ton and 500-ton Captains to join our fleet. We operate in domestic shipping within Vanuatu, providing essential maritime services, including cargo transport and tug operations. Captains will be assigned to either our landing craft LCT Ocean Chief or one of our tugboats, supporting regional logistics and vessel movements.

Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Watchstanding & Navigation: Maintain safe navigational watch, ensure compliance with passage plans, and monitor weather conditions.
🔹 Ship Handling & Maneuvering: Safely berth, unberth, and maneuver the vessel in confined areas and open waters.
🔹 Cargo Loading & Discharge: Oversee loading and securing of cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe handling.
🔹 Crew Leadership & Training: Manage and train crew members to uphold safety, efficiency, and operational standards.
🔹 Safety & Compliance: Ensure the vessel adheres to all maritime safety regulations, environmental policies, and company SOPs.
🔹 Engine & Equipment Oversight: Conduct routine checks on engines, navigation equipment, and vessel systems for operational readiness.
🔹 Emergency Preparedness: Lead emergency drills, respond to incidents, and ensure proper safety measures are in place.
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔️ Valid 200-ton or 500-ton Captain's License (STCW-compliant preferred)
✔️ Experience operating Landing Craft, Tugboats, or similar vessels
✔️ Proficiency in ship handling, navigation, and cargo operations
✔️ Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and procedures
✔️ Experience in watchstanding, maneuvering, and docking
✔️ Ability to lead a crew and oversee vessel operations efficiently
✔️ Previous experience in domestic or inter-island shipping (preferred)
✔️ Must be physically fit and able to work in varying conditions
✔️ Fluent in English and Bislama (French a plus)
