Job Desctiption:

Key Responsibilities/Duties
• Assist in the development of the Annual Business Plan and Financial Budget and to use this as a guide to controlling expenditure during the financial year.
• Facilitate the smooth running of the departments assigned through adequate supply of materials and equipment.
• Adhere to the department budget through the Purchase Order System and inventory controls.
• Be pro-active in controlling costs being fully aware of forecasted business and targeted profitability whilst maintaining standards.
• Drive and monitor the yield management of the hotel to ensure that we are maximizing rate and occupancy at all times.
• Ensure that the Department establishes and maintains an ongoing quality improvement program through use of PMS and hotel guest questionnaires.
• Achieve a level of service quality that consistently meets and preferably exceeds the expectations of guests.
• Attend to major operational problems and needs promptly including customer complaints, enquiries and requests.
• Practice positive problem solving and adopt a win-win approach in all aspects of customer service.
• Answer all correspondence and enquiries received during the working week within 24 hours of receipt; maintain good public relations with customers.
• Take a positive problem solving approach with issues and concerns.
• Maintain staff-focus on 'the Customer's need', individualizing and personalizing service where possible, encourage staff to use their own initiative.
• Encourage and maintain customer feedback regarding product and services in the Hotel.  Listen to and take action on this feedback.
• Ensure that customer safety and security is maintained to high levels at all times.
• Ensure that strategies and practices are in place to facilitate the efficient and effective staffing of department so that financial and service quality targets are achieved.
• Create a team that works together with trust and takes responsibility to meet the goals of the department / hotel.
• Implement on the job training initiatives with particular emphasis on coordinated and structured on job training aligned with service standards and service procedures.
• Establish and maintain safe working conditions and practices following Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
• Ensure every member of the team is able to sell Hotel facilities and is aware of special company promotions and upgrades.
• Consistently deliver a product and service to meet the quality, standards and expectations of guests whilst delivering the promises made by the Sales Team.
• Maintain a register of all service equipment maintenance and breakages; ensure that regular programmed maintenance is carried out to manufacturers specifications.
• Ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.
• To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel's staff handbook and the regulations contained therein.
• To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Resort's policy relating to fire, health and hygiene, cyclone and safety procedures.
• Undertake any other reasonable duty assigned by your Department Head and/or General Manager and/or his appointed Assistant.
• Conduct yourself in the proper manner befitting the image of Warwick Hotels & Resorts when in the Hotel and when representing the Hotel in sports and other functions outside the confines of the Hotel.
• Any other duties assigned by the Resort Manager/General Manager

 

Selection Criteria:


Our ideal candidate:

Previous Front Office management experience or Senior role within a 4 or 5 star hotel;
A demonstrated history of achieving financial targets and working within a budget;
Experience in coaching and developing a team, recruitment and performance management;
Excellent organisational, time management and computer literacy skills;
The ability to deal with guest issues in a timely, positive and professional manner;
Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills;
A high standard of personal presentation;
Formal qualifications in Hotel Management are desirable but not essential
