Organisation Description:
The Northern Island Stevedoring Company Limited (NISCOL) is a duly incorporated limited company operating all stevedoring, wharfage and transportation of international cargoes in Luganville, Santo, Vanuatu.
The Company is owned by the following Shareholders: SANMA Province (30%), MALAMPA Province (20%), PENAMA Province (20%), TORBA Province (10%), Luganville Municipal Council (10%) and the Vanuatu Government (10%).
Job Desctiption:
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and appropriately qualified individual with a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management in a growing, mission-driven organization to fill the position of Automotive Workshop Team Leader (Workshop Manager).
Reporting to the CEO and serving as an integral member of the management team, the successful incumbent accepts full responsibility and accountability for coordinating and directing all activities of the workshop, manage staff, handle customer satisfaction, and ensure the efficiency of the workshop.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills, including the ability to oversee, direct, plan, and organize the day-to-day workshop employee's performance and efficiency.
• Overseeing the inspection and testing of vehicles to ensure the efficiency and functionality of all systems.
• Establishing and implementing operational procedures and policies in the workshop.
• Managing the workshop budget, ensuring quality, and controlling costs.
• Training staff on new technology or machinery, workshop procedures, and safety protocols.
• Managing inventory of tools, parts and equipment, and ordering new supplies as needed.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe and efficient workshop environment.
• Familiar with conducting periodical individual employee performance appraisals.
• Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by handling customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Keeping up to date with the latest industry developments, trends and new automotive technologies.
• Ensure all work complies with automotive industry standards and regulations.
Selection Criteria:
• Proven experience as an Automotive Workshop Manager or similar role. Minimum 5 years relevant experience and exposure in similar role.
• Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of work experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical aspects of vehicles.
• Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts.
• Experience with automotive management software.
• Understanding of safety and environmental standards.
• Effective communication skills.
• Diploma or Higher qualification in Automotive Engineering, Business Management or relevant field.
