Key Responsibilities:
-Perform administrative duties including: reading and writing reports, preparing memorandums and orally communicating with guests, managers, corporate office, local association, etc.

-Manage the operations of the hotel to maximize the profitable growth of the business and ensure service and product quality to maintain and enhance the integrity of the hotel.

-Developing, implementing and monitoring annual business and marketing plans and participating in appropriate national marketing efforts
-Ensure that number of market segments reached and diversify the sources of revenue
-Formulate revenue management and ensure maximum production via different booking channels.
-Maintain visibility with guests and key community contacts to ensure guest satisfaction and a visible presence in the local community
-Oversee the quality process to ensure customer satisfaction by consistent delivery of both product quality and service in accordance with hotels profitability goals
-Create and maintain customer-driven hotel with a customer-keeping vision that inspires the hotel associates to do their best
-Ensure a cross-trained and motivated employee workforce capable of meeting current and future staffing needs and delivering guest services according to quality standards
-Ensure a strong employee culture through the direction, development and support of employees and employee oriented programs
-Provide leadership to the departments to achieve their goals and objectives
-Communicate the goals and objectives and inspire employees to achieve those goals

-Ensure that product quality standards are met as they relate to landscaping, decorations, levels of maintenance, cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in all areas of the hotel outlets
-Ensure the assets of the hotel and the brand name are maintained through the development and recommendation of annual business and capital plans
-Physically tour and visually inspect property on a daily basis
-Appropriate handle associate issues in conjunction with Human Resources in line with Company polices
-Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
-Perform any other job related duties as assigned

 

Selection Criteria:

-Extensive experience (5+ years) in a senior management role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a family-orientated resort or hotel environment
-Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to deliver memorable guest experiences
-Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
-Relevant tertiary qualifications in hospitality management or a related field would be an advantage
-Possess previous experience in hotel industry, with a good understanding of Rooms division, Food & Beverage and Events, Sales & marketing
-You will lead by example creating an environment where your team are encouraged and motivated to be their true self each day
-Confidence in your capability to build strong relationships, effectively resolve difficult situations and implement solutions that improve the service levels and financial results of the business

Duties of a Receptionist will  include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
A Hotel/Resort Receptionist is responsible for providing a friendly, welcoming and efficient service to all hotel guests, in line with the resort's vision and values on customer satisfaction.
The main purposes of the resort reception area's staff are to respond courteously to guest' requests, general running of the reception desk and any other duties as required by the Front Office Manager or Rooms To undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience.
 To build a good rapport with all guests professionally.
 To deal with guests requests to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
 To assist in dealing with customer complaints in an effective and courteous manner, providing or seeking solutions as quickly as possible.
 Responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guests billings
 Manage the Reception Cash float and ensure it is balance at the end of shift.
 Assist in keeping the resort reception area clean, neat and tidy at all times.
 To undertake general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing and switchboard and to ensure the smooth running of the reception area.
 To keep up to date with room prices and specials to provide accurate information to guests.
 Report any maintenance issues, breakage or cleanliness problems to relevant department Supervisors/Managers.
 Ensure a smooth handover to the next shift.

 

Selection Criteria:

 Previous experience in similar role is essential
 High standard of presentation and communication
 Proficiency in Room Master PMS (Preferred)
 Attention to details and ability to work under less supervision
 Reliable and ability to work under pressure
 Excellent interpersonal skills, including a pleasant telephone manner

Job Desctiption:

Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare costing for specific projects, based on receipt of competitive pricing requests and/or contract documentation. Costing and recommendations submitted for approval
-On receipt of instruction, assist the Resort Chief Engineers or Managers in all matters related to the implementation of an effective budget control
-In the event of disaster that involves insurance claims. Work with Fellow colleagues to prepare replacement costing schedule and if requested to attend meetings with insurers and associated parties.
-Ensure major items of infrastructure being, but not limited to, water supply, wastewater, electrical supply including back up generation, HVAC are operating to optimum performance and in accordance with relevant international accreditations where applicable. Ensure Resort chief Engineers, Maintenance managers and designated operators are fully conversant with the processes, operations and maintenance of such equipment.
-Ensure any new projects are implemented with compliance with the related engineering protocols and financial budgets.
-Train Resort Chief Engineers, Maintenance Managers in relevant aspects of the operation as requested
-Project manage specific projects that are beyond the normal duties and expertise of the Resort Chief Engineers and Maintenance Manager.
-On request, assist Resort Chief Engineers and Maintenance Manager in all cases of Operations
-Replace Resort Chief Engineers and Maintenance Manager in all cases of His/her absence from duty as directed.
-On request, supervise all Resort Chief Engineers for performance, quality of workmanship etc.
-In consultation with the Resort Chief Engineers or Managers, design and implement programs so as to safeguard machinery, equipment etc. belonging to the business.
-Ensure all safety regulations are being strictly observed in all WHR Pacific Resorts.
-Design, implement and monitor all energy conservation programs &/or procedures and report any irregularities and non-compliance to the respective Resort General Manager's, Regional General Manager and Senior Vice President.
-Check timely completion of maintenance requests.
-In Consultation with the Resort Chief Engineers or Managers, Design and/or implement Resort maintenance programs
-Report to the Senior Vice President any abnormal conditions noticed at any time threatening life safety related to equipment or installations
-On receipt of reports from designated officers to review and analyse correct functioning of fire alarm systems with completed documentation of regular maintenance of extinguishers (by independent accredited party, hydrants, hoses and other sundry equipment associated to fire protection
-Co-ordinate renovation and construction projects with the architects and engineering consultants, upon approval of the budget and conceptual designs
-Responsible for design and implementations of various engineering projects as agreed and approved by the Corporate office.
-Provide leadership to the Project Manager and Chief Engineers and Maintenance Supervisor on various projects
-Responsible for procurement of materials and FF&E for the engineering aspects for various projects
-Reporting to SVP, and any other executive as designated on regular basis on the progress of the projects
- Conduct training course for new chief Engineers and/or Managers and regular refresher courses for existing HOD's
-Assist the General Manager in building of an efficient team of HODs/Managers and taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and career development
-Ensure that correct standards of services and method are maintained as per policies
-If required, be part of the recruitment process, i.e. interview and hiring of new management staff in engineering.
-Assist supervise the orientation of New Managers/HOD's joining POMEC and ensuring that they fully understand their job description and the policies and procedures of the Resort as laid out in the Staff Handbook.
-Responsible to discipline and counsel staff as required by the Resort Policy and procedures guideline of HR and Training.
-Ensure POMEC Managers/HODs have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Resort's policies and procedures.
-Conduct on the job trainings for new Chief Engineers and/or Managers and regular refresher courses for existing HOD's

 

Selection Criteria:

-Qualification in Engineering or Science, or related field is preferred
-A minimum of 10 years' experience in facilities engineering and operations required
-5 years supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership of engineering teams required
-Strong attention to detail, accuracy, leadership and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member or leader
-Ability to organize, set priorities and motivate others
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

An experience Painter to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces. Must have a practical and aesthetic benefits as an important good painter.Experience painter that is knowledgeable  in selecting the right material for their job. Must be experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures.Must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work.
Responsibilities
• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
• Mix paint when necessary and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply varnish and other finishes
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

 

Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• Proven experience as a painter and excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques and aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Good basic math skills and manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Conscientious with great attention to detail and High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship

Job Desctiption:

Made up of a fleet of 5 vessels (different types and equipment) supplying a vast network of maritime connections between the islands of the archipelago, Vanuatu Ferry Ltd, leader in its sector, is looking for its future Operations Director.

The position involves ensuring coordination between ships and land. Therefore the management of import and export cargo, the management of reception and delivery of goods, the operation of transport vehicles, the supervision of the mechanical and welding department in order to have a fleet of equipment in working condition. The team is made up of around fifteen people (goods reception agent, driver, handler, mechanic, welder, etc.). In addition to daily logistics operations, there is the management of certain projects, the purchase abroad of spare parts for the maintenance of the fleet, establishing relationships with the main customers, suppliers but also the authorities with the monitoring of government projects in terms of infrastructure. Also linked to the needs of ships (bunkering, certification, safety, etc.)

 

Selection Criteria:

Must have a combination of education, experience and skills.
Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, business, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime operations or in a similar position. Strong knowledge of maritime laws and regulations is a plus. Excellent leadership and management skills.

The Role
A highly qualified and experienced Director is required to lead the Pacific Fusion Centre (Centre) and deliver its objectives, consistent with the Director's obligations as set out in the Pacific Islands Forum endorsed  Charter which outlines how the Centre will be governed
It will be a fixed-term opportunity based in Port Vila for an initial term of 16-months with a possible extension of up to 20-months.

The ideal candidate will have a background in regional security, strategic assessments, intelligence, or national security policy. They must also have outstanding regional networking, stakeholder management, representation, and advocacy skills. In accordance with the Charter, the Director will be from a Pacific Islands Forum member country and accountable to the Forum Subcommittee on Regional Security (FSRS).

The Director will embed the Centre's reputation for excellence and collaboration, building effective working partnerships across the Pacific security community, including with all government national security agencies in Pacific island countries as a priority, and with relevant regional organisations as appropriate.

The Director will have demonstrated strategic leadership and management skills to set the Centre's policy direction, deliver quality programs and foster a high-performance culture within a multi-disciplinary team.  The Director will have a clear-eyed view of the Pacific region's security interests, including the Boe Declaration priorities and new and emerging security threats.

Key objectives:
• Lead the Pacific Fusion Centre as the region's centre of excellence and best practice in open-source strategic security analysis and assessment
• Shape the strategic direction of the Centre and implement work programs that deliver outcomes to advance Pacific Leaders' regional security priorities
• Strategic leadership and management skills to set the Centre's policy direction and deliver quality programs
• Foster a high-performance culture within a multi-disciplinary team
• Build effective partnerships with Pacific island countries and relevant regional organisations
• Undertake strategic planning to deliver policy outcomes for the Centre, including in close coordination with the PIF Membership through the FSRS
• Oversee the effective management and allocation of Centre resources, including in close coordination with the Australian Government and requirements of the Australian Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and other relevant legislation.
