It operates both at the wholesale level, supplying goods in bulk to other businesses, and at the retail level, selling directly to consumers. The store focuses on providing a variety of imported and Local products, catering to different customer needs in these categories.

Job Title: Shop Manager – Wholesale and Retail

Location: [PORT VILA]

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Overview:

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both the wholesale and retail sides of the business. This role includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, overseeing inventory and stock levels, and maximizing profitability. The manager will also handle administrative duties such as budgeting, reporting, and coordinating with suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management: - Supervise day-to-day operations for both wholesale and retail divisions. - Ensure the store is well-organized, stocked, and maintained. - Implement and oversee store policies and procedures. - Manage product displays and ensure the retail area is presentable.
2. Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring high levels of performance and teamwork.
- Create work schedules, assign duties, and manage shifts to ensure sufficient staffing levels.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback for improvement.
- Address employee issues, handle grievances, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.
3. Customer Service:
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained in both the wholesale and retail environments.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale clients and retail customers.
4. Inventory & Stock Management:
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring optimal inventory for both wholesale and retail needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to place orders, negotiate pricing, and track deliveries.
- Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory discrepancies.
5. Sales & Marketing:
- Implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets for both the wholesale and retail sections.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns and boost sales.
- Identify new product lines and market trends to increase business opportunities.
6. Financial Management:
- Monitor sales, profits, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Manage budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting for the store.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
7. Compliance & Health and Safety:
- Ensure the business complies with all relevant laws, including health and safety regulations.
- Maintain clean, safe, and accessible work environments for staff and customers.
8. Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to the business owner or senior management on store performance, financials, and staff issues.
- Prepare and analyse sales reports, customer feedback, and inventory records.
Work Conditions:
- Hours: Full-time, may include weekends and public holidays.
- Environment: Primarily based in the store, with some travel for wholesale client meetings or supplier visits.

 

Selection Criteria:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in retail and wholesale management.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and lead a team effectively.
- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve customer issues. - Inventory Management: Strong experience with stock control and ordering systems.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of basic accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Sales Ability: Experience in sales and marketing, with a focus on growing both wholesale and retail revenue.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make sound decisions quickly.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
