Organisation Description: 

A leading grocery establishment in Vanuatu with 7 retail supermarkets, 2 wholesale outlets, and 4 service stations.

 

Job Desctiption:

Responsible for ensuring that goods entering and leaving the country comply with all relevant laws and regulations. The role will involve managing documentation, liaising with customs officials, and facilitating the smooth clearance of shipments.

• Documentation Management: Prepare and review import/export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Customs Compliance: Stay updated on customs regulations and procedures to ensure compliance for all shipments. Advise clients on necessary tariffs, duties, and taxes.

• Liaison with Authorities: Communicate effectively with customs officials and other regulatory agencies to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the clearance process.

• Shipment Tracking: Monitor and track shipments through customs, ensuring timely clearance and delivery to clients.

• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including inspections, delays, or missing documentation.

• Client Support: Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, advising on customs regulations, and updating clients on the status of their shipments.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and company policies.

• Training and Development: Stay informed about changes in customs laws and industry best practices; participate in training sessions to enhance professional knowledge.

 

Selection Criteria:

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience in customs clearance or logistics is highly desirable
Basic experience in Microsoft Office
