Organisation Description:
The purpose of the college is to be the Centre for the training of farmers and acquisition of farming technologies and skills for enhancing agriculture production and in so doing contributing to the economic and social development of Vanuatu.
Job Desctiption:
The Vanuatu Agriculture College Council is seeking to recruit an experienced Livestock Trainer to join our team. He or She will be responsible to oversee the livestock section of the VAC training and also deliver livestock training in compliance to VAC policy, VQA standards and provide relevant learning experiences to students. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of adult learning principles and be able to develop engaging and effective online courses.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee the delivery of courses in the Livestock section.
• Work with the training team to produce annual business plan and implement it.
• Use a range of effective teaching strategies and techniques with materials based on student's needs and intended lesson outcomes.
• Demonstrate flexibility and effectively and appropriately adapts to student needs, class direction when required and external unforeseen circumstances.
• Ensures a high level of student engagement in the learning process.
• Provides assignment and other relevant assessment sheets prior to the students commencing the task.
• Provide students with accurate, meaningful and regular feedback on student outcomes and progress prior to formal reports.
• Maintains and communicates accurate and comprehensive records of students' outcomes.
• Use industry knowledge and experience to engage student learning.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Qualification and Requirements
• Candidate applying for this position must have a Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Livestock or related area including a Certificate IV in Vocational Education and Training.
• 2 Years' experience as the Head of Livestock section.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Analytical and practical thinker.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Good team building skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Honest, reliable, committed, punctual and hardworking.
• Excellent written and oral English or French and Bislama.
