VFHA is a Not-for-Profit Organisation established in 1990 to reinforce a health system that delivers advanced and quality Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in ways that respect, protect, and fulfilled human rights. VFHA is acknowledged by the Ministry of Health and other Government Ministries, and Development Agencies as a close partner in delivering SRH services for women and men of reproductive age. Job Desctiption:
The Youth Officer is the overseer of all youth activities at VFHA, planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting youth activities.
Key responsibilities:
1. Be responsible for the Adolescent/Youth SRH/FLE program.
2. Plan, manage, and direct all youth program activities.
3. Prepare the annual youth work plans and budgets.
4. Prepare timely periodic narrative and financial reports for youth activities.
5. Train and support adolescent SRH advocates to roll out the FLE program.
6. Coordinate and ensure that the SRH services offered at all VFHA clinics are youth-friendly.
7. Coordinate the community distribution of condoms.
8. Establish and work with a network of youth groups to move the SRH/FLE agenda.
9. Ensure safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children / young people / vulnerable adults.
10. Perform any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
Selection Criteria:
Under age of 25 years.
Interested applicants should have at least three years of experience in youth work at local and regional level
A tertiary qualification in Youth Work and/or Community Development
The ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Excellent computer skills particularly in MS Office – Word, Excel and Powerpoing
Good understanding of donor proposal requirements, and ability to develop winning project proposals.
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding in the local and international context.
Demonstrated experience in SRHR youth advocacy and awareness-raising is advantegeous
Valid Police Clearance
