Organisation Description:
Wan Smol Bag's Youth Centre in Port Vila is a place where anyone can come to learn a new skill. It is aimed at youth from 13 to 25 who have dropped out of school or are unemployed, but we have members of all ages. Classes include, sewing, dance, art, music, circus, literacy, computer and much more.
Job Desctiption:
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate music tutor to teach and manage our new studio. They will be responsible for the running of our current music classes, guitar & keyboard, as well as their own class. This would preferably be in drums or ukulele but open to suggestions. The role also involves recording and editing music in the studio (training available) managing band practices and putting on events.
Selection Criteria:
5 years experience playing an instrument
Fluent in Bislama
Experience in teaching music - preferably Drums or Ukulele.
Experience with Garage band or other music editing software
Well connected in the music scene
Interested in sharing skills and building up local talent
Experience with events / concerts
