The Northern Island Stevedoring Company Limited (NISCOL) Port Services is a Limited Company owned by the following shareholders: SANMA Province (30%), MALAMPA Province (20%), PENAMA Province (20%), TORBA Province (10%), Luganville Municipal Council (10%) and the Vanuatu Government (10%). The company operates all stevedoring, wharfage and transportation of international cargoes at Luganville in Santo, Republic of Vanuatu.
Job Desctiption:
NISCOL is seeking to recruit a full-time heavy truck driver who is experienced, motivated and reliable to join our Logistics & Distribution team. As a heavy truck driver, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance in delivering cargoes in a safe and timely manner.
The role is to support the Logistics and Distribution team in operating heavy-duty trucks carrying out the movement of containerized and break-bulk goods through the Port and to and from customers.
The successful candidate should clearly demonstrate their ability to meet the essential criteria details:
Essential
* Work with the Logistics supervisor for all cargoes release.
* Ensure that information of all cargo movement is correct and according to procedures.
* Work with the Container Control for the submission of proof of delivery.
* Report defects, accidents or violations that may happen during operations.
* Knowledge of roads and areas around the island.
* Fill out the proof of delivery details for all cargoes movement in and out of the port.
* Ensure driver license is current and practices safety rules and speed limits.
* Follow company services standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
Selection Criteria:
Each application must address the following:
*4+ years professional driving experience.
*A valid heavy motor vehicle license.
*Ability to move heavy equipment and block stack containerized cargoes.
*Ability to be able to detect problem with the vehicle.
*Good communication skills both written and verbal.
*Excellent customer service.
*Ability to work within a team.
