Job Desctiption:
Program Background
Supervision Services for Port Construction and Rehabilitation Works in various locations of Papua New Guinea.
Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise and guide the contractors to ensure that all obligations under the construction contracts are fulfilled to the requested quality and timeframe.
Coordinate the inputs resources to achieve the optimal outcome of works supervision and contract administration.
Provide technical back-up as required, focusing particularly on quality assurance, mitigating risks of fraud and corruption, and mitigating workplace health and safety (WHS) and environmental and social safeguards risks.
Contribute to and support the Team Leader with Communication/Reporting: as specified under the Contract.
Mentor and provide hands-on training to Engineer(s) seconded to the Project.
Manage and coordinate with subordinate technical staff (Engineer Inspectors) on site to carry out and record all site QA/QC processed per the works contract.
Selection Criteria:
Requirements:
Tertiary engineering qualifications and eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers PNG (or equivalent in the Pacific Region).
Highly effective leadership and management skills.
At least 5 years broad experience in the management of ports and associated infrastructure works, including in PNG and the Pacific.
Experience in living and working in remote locations.
Demonstrated experience and strong capabilities in contract management, including staff and financial management of construction contracts
Salary:
> 350,000 VUV per month
