Organisation Description:
Respond Global's; MV HELPR-1 is a medical emergency response and logistics support vessel which provides medical equipment, personnel, training, and supplies wherever needed in Pacific Island Countries, to assist in the reduction of loss of life. The vessel is fully equipped with medical rooms and vaccine storage.
The HELPR (Health, Emergency, Logistics, Preparedness + Response) program seeks to prioritise and empower in-country response capability. Many Pacific Island Countries (PICs) in the region have experienced devastating natural and health disasters in recent years, which has greatly impacted its people and health systems.
Job Desctiption:
Allocation of cabin considering gender and rank.
Daily manifest updates and email through to captain and others as per Daily Task Sheet.
Fuel Exemption Report to be updated each day as required in conjunction with Captain as per Daily Task Sheet.
Schedule for the next day's activities to be completed around 5pm each night in conjunction with Captain as per Daily Task Sheet.
Night watch to be created around 5pm each night when ship is in port in conjunction with Captain as per Daily Task Sheet.
Sign in and sign out board for all passenger movements with the OOW and daily email through to captain.
Manage petty cash daily, including receipts and log of money in and out
Food and housekeeping orders or assist personnel with the task – following up with ordering.
Managing stock takes of food and housekeeping inventories.
Management of galley and housekeeping staff (i.e. their daily duties).
Assist captain with other administration tasks.
Assist chief engineer with administration tasks.
Assist vessels doctor with administration tasks.
Assist with scanning of daily activity documents for clinical team.
Manage any other administrative tasks on board the ship as required.
Assist with galley duties.
Selection Criteria:
21 years old and above, Fluent in English, Proficient with Microsoft suite, Previous Administration experience, Able to work independently, Excellent attention to detail, Able to meet strict deadlines, Flexible and stress resistant, Team player, Takes ownership of the role, High level of integrity, Proactive & Tactful and courteous
