Organisation Description:
IPDS operates Lapetasi International Container Terminal (LICT) under a PPP with the Government of Vanuatu to provide all stevedoring and container terminal activities and transport on the island of Efate.
Job Desctiption:
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of diesel engines and gas engines in heavy duty trucks and small cars.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain drive train components, electrical systems, hydraulic systems,hydraulic and air brales, suspension systems and a variety of cluthces on trucks and related equipments.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain hydraulic systems, undercarriages, tracks, Sprockets, cuttiung edges, rollers, cooling systems and all power train components on heavy contruction equipments.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain Caterpillar electronics and use a computerized scan program.
Selection Criteria:
-10 years of full-time mechanical work experience repairing heavy duty trucks and/or construction equipment that demonstrates the ability to perform the primary duties of the job.
- Vocational certificate in repair of heavy duty automotive or diesel equipment, or journey level status.
- Skill in dealing tactfully and courteously with courteously co -workers and customers
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to follow and provide written and oral instructions
- Computer literate
- Must be able to work odd hours, under pressure, efficient and trustworthy
- Experience in a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) would be a distinct advantage.
